Our Story
Back in the early fifties, a young man named Konrad Kehl Jr. emigrated to Canada from Germany. He was a furniture maker by trade and landed his first job, coincidentally, at Walkerville Lumber, making wood sashes for windows. Konrad would later move on to start his own award winning construction company, Kehl Construction, in which he completed many commercial, industrial, institutional and residential projects.
In the early 1980s, his youngest son, Richard, joined Kehl Construction as Operation Manager. In 1999, Richard acquired the machinery of a troubled window company with hopes to develop a hybrid energy efficient window system.
The early years were a struggle. Kehl's windows were built to be energy efficient, but some consumers did not see this benefit as an important part of their purchase. Then in 2005, when energy efficiency became highly sought after and of great concern to homeowners, they turned to Kehl to provide them with a quality product that would meet their needs. Since then, Kehl Windows has never looked back. Richard is constantly researching new innovations in order to keep products current with new technology so that the company can offer the best vinyl window in the industry.
Today, we pride ourselves on being the local manufacturer of quality vinyl and hybrid window systems.
